Piet Hein Eek developed a vision on recycling long before it came into fashion. “The scrapwood cupboard from 1990 was my reaction against the prevalent craving for flawlessness. I was walking around in a lumberyard and suddenly realized that old wood looked better than new.”

NLXL’s first collection in 2010, Scrapwood Wallpaper by Piet Hein Eek, changed the wallpaper business. It became an overnight success and is now available in over 70 countries.

Piet Hein Eek: “This new collection complements the previous one. For this first collection we just scanned some planks from my workshop and brought it to market. This time we aimed for a more conceptual approach. Working on this collection turned out to be much more interesting than the first time”.
